Have you ever worked with old people?
  • Check out the IDEAS section
  • yes:
  • I worked in a company where some colleagues were close to retirement age
  • I was lucky to work with a really old colleague once; he was close to retirement and knew everything about our work, so I learned so much just by watching him
  • during a volunteer project or community program, I collaborated with older team members
  • in a previous office job, a senior colleague guided me through complex tasks
  • on a long-term project, I teamed up with an old colleague who had decades of experience
  • occasionally, I worked with old colleagues during training sessions or mentoring programs
  • no:
  • all my colleagues have been about my age or younger
  • my work experience hasn’t involved older teams yet
  • I haven’t had the chance to collaborate with senior staff
  • hopefully, I will in the future and learn from them
Actually, I was lucky to work with a really old colleague once, and it was quite an experience. He was close to retirement and knew everything about our work, so I learned so much just by watching him. It was fascinating to see how someone with decades of experience solves problems. I even helped him a bit with computers, and we ended up becoming good friends.
Regrettably, I haven’t really worked with old colleagues yet. Most people around me at work have been my age or younger, so I haven’t had that chance. I can imagine it would be really interesting to learn from someone with so much experience. Hopefully, I’ll get the opportunity in the future.
