There were 2 acro dancers. During the first 30 seconds of the performance they were moving gracefully on the stage. And there was nothing else going on. I was hugely disappointed and was about to stop watching it when one of the girls did a handstand, landed in a bridge with one leg up. Her toes were perfectly pointed, and her leg was as straight as an arrow. And here's where the magic began.
The other girl, the top partner, quickly mounted her and did a handstand on the top of her foot. I gasped in amazement. You should have seen the judges of the contest. They were staring at the girls open-mouthed. And then the base girl started lifting the other leg up to about 45 degrees. This left me breathless. I just couldn't believe my eyes ‘cause what I saw defied the laws of physics. Then they did a few more unimaginable double tricks, crazy partner handstands and other acrobatic poses.
One of the judges kept saying ‘How is it possible?' The other judges were staring at them in wide-eyed amazement. It was so impressive a performance that I couldn't take my eyes off the stage. And I couldn't help watching it again and again. I was blown away. It is hard to put this experience into words other than OMG, OMG, OMG. I was so impressed that I even posted this video on my timeline on Facebook, which isn't typical of me.
What I read made me feel really enthusiastic about the future because nowadays cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide. For example, just in 2018, there were 17 million new cancer cases and 9.5 million cancer deaths. What's more, treatment is super expensive and, in most cases, ineffective.
So, according to the news article, a team of scientists has discovered the first complete cure for cancer. The treatment is a multi-target toxin which specifically kills cancer cells. Also, they say that patients could likely stop treatment after a number of weeks and not need a drug cocktail throughout their lives.
The team has already concluded its first exploratory experiment on mice, and it had promising results. The experiment showed inhibited human cancer cell growth and had no effect on healthy mice cells. So, the company will soon begin clinical trials that could be completed within a few years and would make the treatment available in specific cases.
Frankly speaking, I didn't expect such a discovery to happen in the not-too-distant future, therefore I was truly impressed by this piece of news.
