I panicked a bit, but I quickly unplugged it from the charger, held down the power button to switch it off, and grabbed some paper towels to soak up the mess. I kept thinking there had to be something else I could do to save it before it was too late.
So I called a tech-savvy friend and asked him for advice. He told me not to shake it, but to open it up as wide as possible, flip it keyboard-down on a towel, and just leave it there for a few hours so the water could drip out. It sounded weird, but I followed his instructions exactly.
Unfortunately, nothing worked. The laptop stayed dead, so in the end I had to take it to a repair shop. The guy there smiled like he had seen a hundred cases like mine that week. It was expensive, stressful, and honestly pretty embarrassing, but now it’s kind of a funny story I tell whenever people ask about clumsy moments.
