Absolutely! I'd even say without imagination, science would never ever have existed. I'm saying so because in the process of making discoveries, scientists think of something new and put it to a try. They make hypotheses, which requires being able to imagine how a certain observation may come about. So I think imagination is everywhere in every invention.
