I used to be an avid reader but recently the pleasure of reading has started to fade . To be honest, the thing is that the older I get, the more difficult it is to find good books that would make me mentally challenged . Many ideas aren't novel and when I read a book, I no longer feel the suspense of watching a plot to unfold .
Oh, I'm really passionate about books . If it weren't for them, I guess my life would be boring in a sense. While I'm reading, I become so deeply immersed into a different world that I feel almost like I'm experiencing it myself. Books offer hundreds of lands to explore, the past and future to navigate, and of course an infinite number of lives to step into. I feel as though I'm actually there with the characters.
I love reading so much that everybody considers me a lifelong bookworm . I read a lot and fast. I consume several books per week and they serve different purposes in my life. They help me to get away from reality, broaden knowledge and even look at my life from a different perspective.
Frankly speaking, it doesn't really matter what books to read provided that they blow my mind and leave me pensive long after I have finished reading. I also like books that describe life situations that help me find solutions to my problems or learn some lessons.
What I really like reading is stories that can't possibly happen. For example, I love sci-fi novels that set out a brilliantly imaginative view of the future. I also can't help loving books about traveling through space and time. I love reading because it helps me to become smarter. When I read, I discover a lot of information on different topics which usually comes really handy in any conversation.
I love when I get so lost in a book that everything is forgotten except the world I just stepped into, then when I finally come back to reality it takes me a minute to remember where I am and the time.
Recently I finished reading Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future by Ashlee Vance because it was one of the most-cited books of 2015. In this book the author looks inside the extraordinary life of Elon Musk and tells us about his incredible projects such as Tesla, PayPal, SpaceX and SolarCity. I would like to say it's one of the most interesting and inspiring books I have ever read.
I guess the most valuable insight is that impossible is nothing. If Elon Musk and other inventors had listened to people around them or if he had hesitated whether to try or not, he wouldn't have launched his wonderful projects that benefit people worldwide.
Believe it or not, this book helped me to get through a sticking point in my life. After I had read it, I felt a relief and started looking at all my problems from a different perspective. I mean I stopped worrying about things I couldn't change. You know, it was not until I read this book that I realised that we should be grateful for whatever happens in our lives because all these difficulties help us to become stronger and wiser.
